Sample of Veneers

PORCELAIN VENEERS --- These are custom-made thin “shells” of porcelain that are placed on the outer surfaces of teeth providing the patient with a natural, esthetic and aligned smile. Veneers are typically used for the treatment of crooked, chipped, uneven teeth, discolored teeth or teeth which are widely spaced apart. Porcelain veneers are extremely resistant to stains from tea, coffee and cigarette smoking. They have a very natural feel and appearance as you brush and floss them like any other normal tooth. They are also minimally invasive as mostly only the front surfaces of the teeth are prepared.

Procedure

On the initial visit, the Doctor will prepare the front surfaces of the tooth taking away only about half to a millimeter.  This is needed to ensure proper strength in the material, because if the veneer is too thin it will chip or break more easily.

After preparation, we will take an impression of the prepared surface to send to the lab for fabrication of the veneer.  In the meantime, the Doctor will make a temporary veneer that will cover and protect the tooth while the final product is being made.

On the second visit, we will remove the temporary veneer and try in the permanent one.  After we verify that the color, contour and fit of the veneer is satisfactory, we will then bond it to your tooth, after which we will remove any excess cement and clean and polish the restoration.
